Sir Lenny Henry appointed as Chancellor of the University
Actor, writer, comedian and charitable campaigner Sir Lenny Henry is to become the new Chancellor of the University.
Sir Lenny visited the University's City Centre campus last month to start preparing for his five year term as Chancellor.

Outstanding Business School graduate recognised
Chief Executive of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Tina Swani, was honoured by the University last month when she was recognised as one of our Alumni of the Year 2016. Tina graduated from the University with a Master in Business Administration in 1995.

Student marries and graduates the same day
In July, there was a double celebration for student Anu Yusuf, as she married and graduated with a first-class degree on the same day. She tied the knot at Birmingham Register Office, and then just hours afterwards attended her graduation ceremony at the Symphony Hall.
